A young Mexican couple is overjoyed as they welcome their first child. However, when the baby is born, the medical staff, family, and colleagues turn on the newborn. The pressure to define the baby is overwhelming, as if the world  depended on it. The baby is intersex which means their anatomy does not allow the newborn to be classified as a “girl or as a boy.”
Faced with relentless societal and cultural norms, the couple is forced to make a quick decision: for or against a life-altering surgery.
