This is the story of a life. A life split in two. Born in 1947, Tony Powell was a British soccer star for thirteen years (1968–1981). Today, he manages a deserted motel in the heart of West Hollywood, which is about to close.
Between these two eras lie a sense of mystery, things left unsaid or kept discreet or even an escape, acts of abandonment, silence. Because being gay in the world of professional soccer is impossible; some have even lost their lives admitting such a thing.
An intense and poignant film, where smiles, tears, moments of anger, and acts of defiance all come to the surface.
