THE CHRONOLOGY OF WATER

A raw and visceral film, *The Chronology of Water* chronicles the life of Lidia, born in the Pacific Northwest into an environment ravaged by violence and alcohol. A promising swimmer, the young woman manages to escape her family by enrolling in college, where she participates in a writing project. However, illicit substances continue to flow freely, while the young woman discovers she is bisexual and experiments with sadomasochism.
In adapting Lidia Yuknavitch’s cult-classic memoir, Kristen Stewart delivers a formally free and powerful directorial debut, steeped in the subconscious of a young woman haunted by traumatic memories.
