DOWNTOWN
Lennart and Ronnie, two young men bound by a strong friendship, are at the heart of Amsterdam’s most electrifying gay club. Amid the hedonistic atmosphere of the 1980s, one—a DJ—runs the club, while the other—the Don Juan of the dance floor—falls in love with a young artist. A heavenly era that quietly crumbles as the regulars gradually disappear. When they reunite years later, they revisit the truths and unspoken realities that have shaped their lives.
An intense dialogue between two eras, the film follows three characters torn between generosity and individualism. A striking and flamboyant portrait of gay men on the threshold of old age.
