“Sisterhood is freedom.” How can a woman survive in a megacity like Lagos, marked by inequality and violence? Must we always dream of somewhere else?
Lady lives on the outskirts of the Nigerian capital; she is one of the few female taxi drivers and crisscrosses the city with complete independence. Soon, Pinky, her childhood friend, reappears in her life with a lucrative offer: to be a private driver for her and her fellow sex workers, deep in the heart of Lagos’s nightlife. A choice that will turn her life, her values, and her worldview upside down.
For her first feature film, the filmmaker—who grew up in Lagos—crafts a “contemporary African neo-noir,” haunted by contrasts of light and sound, in which the heroine is transformed not through conquest but through connection. An intense immersion, a story of hope and collective empowerment.
