OUT LAWS
Namibia, Sri Lanka, and Barbados—three territories on three continents, former colonies of the British Empire. Friedel, Rosanna, and Raven are LGBTIQ+ rights activists born in these countries and criminalized by their current laws. But have we forgotten that these laws were introduced and imposed by colonialism?
While London celebrates its annual Pride in complete freedom, queer communities in the former colonies are hunted down, imprisoned, and even executed. The three protagonists of this enlightening and moving film have decided to fight back, take the state to court, and raise awareness—all to dismantle cultural and mental domination. They are role models who inspire courage and give strength.
