WORKSHOP : l’émancipation du cinéma queer

What do movies tell us?!
The screenwriter—that creative force who decides the fate of the characters on screen—has, for many, many years, mistreated queer characters: saddling them with flaws and burdens, steering them toward failure, and plunging them into the torments of drama and tragedy. Do the 2020s mark the end of these dark journeys? 
Spotlight on screenplays: this workshop explores the arcs of queer characters in fiction films, from the origins of cinema to the present day, so that, we hope, we can see that happy endings have finally taken hold in the realm of queer cinema.
Through interaction with the audience and film clips, this workshop explores how queer cinema has transformed.
