Un jeune homme de 14 ans, en questionnement sur son genre et sa religion, rêve qu’il s’échappe de son quotidien. Son refuge est la danse ou, plus précisément, le voguing : un art de vivre qui offre à une nouvelle génération de jeunes LGBTIQ racisés et marginalisés, la liberté de se rassembler et de s’exprimer. Un film élégamment ponctué de scènes de comédie musicale. Intense, poétique, il dépeint aussi une certaine Amérique contemporaine, pétrie de racisme et de transphobie.
