Sid sent la pression de ses parents, Indiens émigrés, désireux de le voir devenir père de famille. Alors que Sid annonce au monde qu’elle est une femme trans*, Ralph, 14 ans, se présente à sa porte comme son fils. Passé sa surprise, l’adolescent trouve « cool » d’avoir un parent transgenre, tandis que l’amant de Sid, encore dans le placard, n’est pas prêt d’accepter un beau- fils… Une ne comédie rythmée par une onde de choc, qui ébranle les certitudes quant à la création d’une famille.
